Flag of Zambia
The flag of Zambia has a green color background with a reactangular block at the bottom right corner. The block has three vertical stripes from left to right red, black and orange. There is a orange colored soaring eagle on top of the rectangular block.
The colors in the flag represent:
- Red for the struggle for freedom.
- Black for the people of Zambia.
- Orange for the mineral wealth.
- Green for the natural resources.
The eagle represents the freedom of people and the ability of it's people to rise above the nation's problems. The eagle has been taken from the official coat of arms of Zambia.
The flag was adopted by Zambia on October 23, 1964.
