Flag of Tanzania
The flag of Tanzania has a black diagonal stripe running from bottom left to top right corner. The stripe is lined by thin yellow stripe on either side. The area left on the top side of the stripe is colored green and the area below the stripe is colored blue.
The colors of the flag represent:
- Green for the agricultural land.
- Black for the people of Tanzania.
- Blue for the Indian Ocean.
- Yellow for the mineral wealth.
The flag was adopted on June 30, 1964 after Tanganyika and Zanzibar merged together to form Tanzania in April 1964. The flag is a combination of the two countries flags.
