Flag of Tajikistan
The flag of Tajikistan has 2 equal width horizontal stripes at the top and bottom of the flag. The top one is colored red and the bottom one is green. The central stripe is colored white and its width is equal to the width of the other 2 stripes combined. At the centre of the white stripe and the flag there is golden crown which is surrounded by 7 golden five point stars.
The colors of the flag represent:
- Red for Tajikistan's independence.
- White for the cotton industry.
- Green for the agricultural land.
The crown signifies unity and sovereignity of Tajikistan.
The flag was adopted on November 24, 1992 after it gained its independence from Soviet Union on September 9, 1991.
