Flag of Taiwan
The flag of Taiwan has a red background with a dark blue rectangle in the top left corner. There is a white sun in the blue rectangle with 12 triangular rays.
In Taiwanese culture the colors hold significance hence the colors in the Taiwan flag represent the principles of the people:
Red represents nationalism, blue represents democracy and White represents livelihood.
The flag became the official flag of Taiwan when it was claimed by the People's Republic of China which had proclaimed this flag in 1921. The logo in the top left corner was adopted by Sun Yat-sen's society for regenerating china in 1895. The red color was added before the 1911 chinese revolution.
