Flag of Sudan
The flag of Sudan has 3 equal width horizontal stripes, red at the top, followed by white and black at the bottom. A green triangle is placed on the left side with its base merged with the side of the flag. The apex of the triangle is pointing towards the centre of the flag.
The colors of the flag represent:
- Red for the struggle for independence.
- White for peace, light and optimism.
- Black for the people of Sudan.
- Green for Islam and agricultural land.
The flag was adopted on May 20, 1970 and the design is a result of nationally held flag competition ans it is based on the Arab Liberation flag of Egypt.
