Flag of Cape Verde
The flag of Cape Verde is divided into five disproportionate horizontal stripes. The top-most stripe of blue, which equals to one half to the width of the flag, is trailed by three stripes of white, red, and white, each equal to 1/12 of the width, and a bottom stripe of blue, which equals to 1/4 of the flag width. The stripes are in a ratio of 6:1:1:1:3. A circular structure of ten, yellow, five-pointed stars are placed at the center, on the red stripe, and located at 3/8 of the length of the flag from the hoist side.
Symbolism
- The rectangular shape of the flag comprising the large blue field symbolizes the endless area of the sea and sky

- Red is for the seamless efforts
- The 10 stars represent the ten islands situated in the blue sea (a series of islands off the coastline of Africa)
- The circular formation of the stars signifies the unity of Cape Verdean Nation
