The national flag of Cameroon is divided into three vertical stripes of green (the hoist side), red and yellow color. A yellow five-pointed star in placed at the center of the flag. The proportion is roughly 2:3.

Symbolism

The color format exercises the customary Pan-African colors, and the tricolor drawing is tailored from the flag of France.

The flag was adopted in its current form on May 20, 1975 after Cameroon turned into a unitary state.
