Flag of Cambodia

The national flag of Cambodia into three stripes, blue (top), red (middle) and blue (bottom), in a ratio of 1:2:1. Red and blue are the customary colors of Cambodia. A black symbol of ‘Angkor Wat’, a three-towered temple, is depicted at the center of the flag, in the red stripe. Angkor Wat (or often spelled as Angkor Vat), is a temple compound at Angkor, Cambodia, constructed for the king named Suryavarman II in the beginning of 12th century as his state temple and capital city. The temple was built by the Mahidharapura monarchs.

The present Cambodian flag grips the peculiarity of being the only flag to mark a building in its drawing. It was officially implemented following Cambodia's independence in 1948.
