Flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The national flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a navy-blue background with a yellow colored isosceles triangle adjoining the blue column (on the fly side) and the top of the flag. A row of seven full five-pointed white stars and two half stars (at each end) stretch out along the hypotenuse of the triangle. The various elements of the flag indicate the following:
- The colors, white, blue and yellow stand for neutrality, peace and harmony
- The three points of the triangle symbolize the three countries; Bosnia, Bosniaks and Croats & Serbs. Sometimes it is also said that the three points refer to the terrestrial outline of Bosnia which is triangular in formation
- The stars signify Europe and are destined to be infinite
The flag came into use since 04 February, 1998.
