Flag of Bolivia

The national flag of Bolivia is divided into three equal horizontal stripes of red, yellow, and green with the Coat of Arms of Bolivia in the middle. The red color indicates Bolivia’s courageous soldiers, whereas the green color signifies fertility and yellow color represents the nation's mineral repository.

The Coat of Arms of Bolivia has a crest at the center encircled by Bolivian flags. Around the shield there are three Bolivian flags on both sides. Two pairs of crossed muskets are placed behind the shield that indicates the struggle for independence. An axe and a red Phrygian hood lie next to the musket, which are the signs for liberty or freedom. The laurel branches are the symbols of peace, and the eagle seated upon the shield is a symbol of willingness to guard the country and its freedom.

The current flag of Bolivia was originally adopted by Bolivia in 1851.
