Flag of Aruba

The national flag of Aruba is light blue colored in the background. Two thin horizontal parallel yellow bars lie at the floor section of the flag. A four-pointed white-bordered red colored star is imprinted in the top-left sector. The flag was officially implemented on March 18, 1976.

There are various meanings linked with the different signs on the flag. The blue background symbolizes the sky, the sea, peace, hope, and Aruba’s future. The two thin bottom bars represents the stream of tourists in the country and the industry segment of Aruba. The red white-bordered star is perceived in a variety of forms; the four fundamental directions, the four major languages, the island itself which is enriched by red soil and bordered by white beaches, the sacrificial blood of war veterans, purity, and honesty. The people of Aruba celebrate March 18 as the Flag Day.
