Flag of Armenia
The national flag of Armenia constitutes of a simple design which consists of three equal horizontal bars, red< on the top, blue in the center, and orange on the bottom. The flag is also sometime known as Armenian Tricolor. The flag was adopted on August 24, 1990. There have been various forms of interpretation of the colors on the flag. For instance, red signifies the blood of sacrificial soldiers in war, blue for the Armenian sky, and orange denotes the productive lands and the people working on them.
However, the original meanings of the various colors are as follows; Red symbolizes the Armenian Highland, the Armenian people's constant struggle for survival, preservation of the Christian faith, Armenia's independence, and freedom. Blue indicate the will of the people of Armenia to live beneath peaceful skies. Orange symbolizes the imaginative ability and hard-working nature of the people of Armenia.
