Flag of Angola
The national flag of Angola is partitioned into two equal horizontal bars. The upper bar is red in color whereas the lower bar is black in color. The flag was put to use at independence on November 11, 1975. The emblem in the center is of a crossed cog wheel (representing workers and industry) and machete (representing the peasantry) with a gold colored star.
