Flag of Saint Helena
The Flag of Saint Helena is designed with a Blue colored Ensign, featuring the flag of the United Kingdom in the upper left corner and the shield of Saint Helena on the right hand side. The Blue ensign is a flag which is used by either organizations or the territories that are associated with the United Kingdom. It can be either used in its simple, plain form or it can also be defaced with a symbol or crest, such as the flag of Saint Helena with the shield. The Saint Helena shield depicts the coast of the island, with a three-mast ship sailing along with it and mountainous region in the background.
The emblem (shield) on the Flag of Saint Helena has been taken from the Coat of Arms of Saint Helena which was authorized on 30th January, 1984.
