Flag of Romania
The flag of Romania is composed of three colors – blue, yellow and red. These tricolors are each divided vertically into three equal, rectangular regions over the area of the flag, with blue covering the left one-third region, yellow - the central and red - the right.
Symbolism
The colors of the Romanian flag are believed to depict the following:
- Yellow - a symbol of generosity
- Red - hardiness, bravery, strength & valor
- Blue - vigilance, truth and loyalty, perseverance & justice
Romania has a Flag Day, on which ceremonies comprising cultural and education functions take place, which are patriotic, scientific or military-related in nature. These programs are devoted to the proud Romanian history and are celebrated by the public as well as government, as required by law.
