Flag of Norfolk Island
The flag of Norfolk Island consists of three vertical stripes. The stripes/rectangular regions at the hoist and fly end of the flag are green in color, whereas the center region is white, with the image of a green pine at its center. The pine is scientifically named Araucaria excelsa.
A design for the Norfolk Island flag was approved by the Norfolk Island Council on June 1979. The flag was then created and rules pertaining to the usage of the flag were laid down. This flag was declared official on 17th January, 1980.
