Flag of Liechtenstein

The principality of Liechtenstein was created in 1719 following the union of the courtships of Vaduz and Schellenberg. The blue and red of the flag have been used as the national colors since the early 19 th century, and the gold crown was added to the canton in 1937 to avoid any confusion with the flag of Haiti. When this flag is flown vertically, the crown appears rotated through 90 degree so that its cross continues to pint towards the top of blue over red, but with the arms of Liechtenstein in the center and without the crown in the canton.

The ratio of the flag is 3:5.
