Flag of Nauru

In common with the flags of some other Pacific island nations, the flag of Nauru depicts the nation’s geographical location. Represented by the star, Nauru appears set in the Pacific Ocean just to the south of the equator. The 12 points of the star are said to represent the 12 indigenous tribes of the island. The flag was adopted on independence from the joint administration of Australia, New Zealand and Britain in 1968, and was the winning entry in the flag’s design competition.

The ratio of the flag is 1:2.
