Flag of Moldova

The flag of the new Republic of Moldova was adopted in late 1990, shortly before the official break-up of the old USSR. It bears a resemblance to the flag of Romania, and the central arms, featuring a spread eagle, are not unlike those previously used by the Romanians. Here, the bull’s head symbolizes Moldova, while the colors stand for the past, present and the future of the country as well as its democratic principles and historical traditions, and the equality of all its citizens.

The ratio of the flag is 1:2.
