Flag of Ethiopia

The Ethiopian flag is one of the most influential in the world. It is the basis for the Pan-African colors of green, yellow and red. This is because Ethiopia is the oldest independent African country. The colors were first used in the 1890s, as three pennants in no special order. The order was settled and they became a modern flag early in the 20 th century. The colors are symbolic in Coptic Christianity, representing the Holy Trinity and the virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity. In 1996, the new national emblem was added to the tricolor to create a new all-purpose flag for government and civil use. The ratio of the flag is 1:2.
